For many decades, the unofficial slogan for the City of Inglewood was “Inglewood, up to no good”, but over the last decade, Inglewood has positioned itself as a worldwide entertainment hub. In the last 10 years, we’ve seen a renovated version of the Fabulous Forum, the building of SoFi Stadium and the new Clippers Arena, the refurbishing of parks, streets and buildings, a new Senior Center, and many other benchmarks and landmarks. Inglewood is a unique city to Los Angeles County because of it’s racial demographic make up. As of the 2020 census, Inglewood has an African American population of 42% and a Latino population of 50%.
During my five years working with the video and social media team for the City of Inglewood. I worked as a videographer, shooting various events throughout the city, including ribbon cutting ceremonies, street festivals, small business highlights, and other public gatherings. I also worked as a video editor, editing content for social media, digital platforms, and for broadcast television. In addition, I served as a graphic designer, designing flyers, notices, publications, and promotional content for social media and instagram. Below are a few of the events I had the pleasure of being on the shooting team, as well as editing.
The Los Angeles Rams are consistenly doing outreach for the City of Inglewood. This particular was to show support for the Inglewood flag football teams and players, ranging from ages 6-14.
The Taste of Inglewood is an annual event where local food vendors from all over the region come serve the community. Alongside dozens of food vendors is entertainment, activities and live music.
With the City of Inglewood being almost 50% Latinx, the Hispanic Heritage Celebration is a big deal. It’s a day to celebrate the community with entertainment, vendors, and a classic car show featuring over 50 automobiles.
There are so many events that happened in the year of 2018 in the City of Inglewood. This video shows a recap of all of the beautiful moments that occured in the community.
